5,000 runners participate in fifth Da Nang Int’l Marathon

More than 5,000 athletes, both professional and amateur, from 44 countries and territories, participated in the Da Nang International Marathon 2017 in central coastal Da Nang city on August 6.

The event, the fifth of its kind, is jointly organised by Pulse Active Company and the city, and funded by Manulife Life Insurance Company.

The race included four categories: full marathon (42-km run), half marathon (21-km run), 10-km run and 4-km run

Izawa Satoshi from Japan won the full marathon event, while Julien Davenne from France became the winner of the men’s half marathon event. Vietnamese runners dominated the 10-km run.

The tournament also offered a 5-km fun run for locals and tourists.

Central Da Nang city, with beautiful beaches surrounded with famous UNESCO-recognised world heritage sites, promises to be a beautiful destination for runners and tourists.
