At the meeting with the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abudullah bin Zayed Al Nayhan, Mr. Pham Binh Dam expressed his gratitude for the Minister’s warm welcome, as well as other UAE’s government leaders in their close cooperations to further Vietnam – UAE relationship.

The Ambassador stressed that recently, there have been solid improvements regarding the bilateral relations between the two countries. However, the nature of the two countries’ economies mean that there are still rooms for development in aspects such as commerce, investment, tourism… Mr. Pham Binh Dam suggested both sides to push for stronger economic ties, as well as bringing more projects that will benefit both countries economically.
2018 marks the 25th anniversary of Vietnam’s diplomatic relationship with the UAE. The Ambassador believed that this is a good opportunity to stage many cultural, political and economical events in order for the two countries to improve relations.
On his part, Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nayhan expressed his content with the improvement in the two countries’ bilateral relations. He also spoke highly of the effort of the Vietnamese Embassy and Mr. Dam in the later’s term of office.
Mr Nayhan believed that the two countries should increase their cooperation in the future in order to maximise both sides’ strength and potential. The Minister stressed that UAE hopes to invest in Vietnam in 4 key areas: infrastructure, tourism, food safety and energy, especially the energy extraction or production techniques, which many businesses in the UAE have become adept at, but are still in great demand in Vietnam.
