At a press conference on April 3, the municipal Department of Culture and Sports and the Asian Carom Billiards Confederation (ACBC) reported that this year’s event will bring together 48 leading cueists in the region and the world, including 2017 Asian champion Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (Vietnam – world No.10), Choi Sung Won (the Republic of Korea – world No.12), Tran Quyet Chien (Vietnam – world No.15) and Cho Jae Ho (the Republic of Korea, world No.16).

Nguyen Minh Hoang, Vice President of the ACBC and deputy head of the organizing board said the event is important to all participating players as the points they earn will help them reach higher position in the Union Mondiale de Billiard rankings.
The championship will be a chance for the Vietnamese team to assess their players’ performance before they attend the World Cup event in Altalya, Turkey in late April and another World Cup event in Ho Chi Minh City in May.
