At a press briefing after the talks, DPM/FM Pham Binh Minh announced that the two sides discussed and agreed ways to make full use of potentials and advantages, including exchanges of delegations at all levels and dialogue mechanisms.The two FMs held talks on February 13 in Ha Noi to discuss ways to beef up the bilateral ties and regional and international issues of common concern.
Both sides acknowledged the importance of spurring dialogues and early signing agreements on double taxation avoidance and maritime transportation. They also agreed to strengthen multi-lateral forums. As an active and responsible member of ASEAN, Vietnam always backs the cooperation between ASEAN and the EU in general and Greece and ASEAN’s member states.
DPM/FM Pham Binh Minh also took the occasion to thank the valuable support of Greek people in national independence and building.
In reply, Mr. Nikos Kotzias, the first Greek FM to visit Vietnam, expressed his admiration at the glorious history of Vietnam. He also pledged to spare no effort to nurture the fine relations with Vietnam, especially in maritime transportation and serve as a gateway for Vietnam to strengthen ties with the EU.
Last year, the two-way trade turnover fetched US$ 239 billion, up US$ 196 million from 2015.
