The two came to Las Vegas with a Vietnamese tourist group, who were on a trip organised by their company.
The case was said to take place at about 2 am on June 2 (US time). The two bodies were found in their room at the hotel with multiple injuries allegedly caused by stabbing.
The Vietnam Embassy had sent a letter to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, asking for information on their investigation of the case. The embassy also worked with the Vietnam Consulate General in San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs to assist the victims’ families in quickly obtaining the US’s visa and in completing procedures to transfer the bodies/remains to Vietnam.
The embassy has contacted Sang’s sister, who is living in the US. She had arrived in Las Vegas waiting to identify the victim.
