The International Media Center (IMC) is being built at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace to serve international and regional reporters for the upcoming second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un slated for Feb. 27-28.
The palace at 91 Tran Hung Dao Street in the central Hoan Kiem District has been chosen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the international media center for reporters covering the meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump from Feb 27-28.
The total size of the IMC is 4,000m2, and is divided into 3 seperate areas.
By the afternoon of February 21, the IMC's basic infrastructure system has been completed.
The main lobby (Building A) of the Viet-Sov palace with an area of more than 1,000 m2 will serve as the information desk, providing relevant documents for the press and media outlets...
The IMC also has a space for press conferences, equiped with networked computers and LCD screens to watch live broadcasts of all events connected to the summit.
Press agencies can also rent space and set up their own nine square meter booths with full equipments including tables, chairs, LCD screens, telephone lines and internet connection.
All the booths are all being prepared as requested from press agencies and media outlets.
Also, in order to best serve the journalists, the entire Viet-Sov palace's electricity and air conditioning systems is being fixed up.
The entire wireless network (Wifi) will be installed and provided free of charge, ensuring the news transmission of reporters. Also, hundreds of direct network cable will be provided as well.
The Radio Frequency System is now installed and almost ready to use.
The dining area inside the IMC will provide meals for journalist.
It is expected that IMC will attract thousands of reporters to attend the report on the DPRK-US Summit this time.
The IMC will be opened from Feb 25. In addition, it will be opened 24/7 to help international reporters conveniently work in this event.
