Embassies of Vietnam around the world also hosted memorial ceremonies to late PM Phan Van Khai. There were many friends, diplomatic representatives and Vietnamese communities went to pay homage and offer condolences in the funeral book.
Former PM Phan Van Khai was a very well-known and important figure in the diplomatic service. During the 9 years (1998-2006) as the head of the government, he left many important marks in Vietnam's foreign policy and international economic integration.
In this period, Vietnam initially integrated into the international economy, participated in multilateral forums and mechanisms such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the World Trade Organization (WTO), laying an important foundation for the comprehensive and extensive integration of the country in the future.
The former PM passed away at 1:30 on March 17 at Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City, aged 85.
