Mr. Binh lauded the outcomes of the Vietnam-Canada partnership over the past years, saying that the two countries shared abundant potential for collaboration in various fields, especially trade, investment, development cooperation, education and training, and people-to-people exchange.

He affirmed the Communist Party of Vietnam’s consistent policy of developing the socialist-oriented market economy and highlighted the country’s determination to continue reforming policies to attract investments to create more favourable environment for investors, including those from Canada.
Mr. Binh, who is also Secretary of the Party Central Committee, expressed his hope that the Canadian Embassy and the Economic Commission will further foster their affiliation for stronger Vietnam-Canada ties.
For her part, the Canadian ambassador said that the strong economic and trade partnership between the two countries over the past years is a firm foundation for future growth of bilateral ties.
She vowed to continue promoting partnership between the two countries in trade and investment to raise two-way trade.
Canada will also continue providing ODA to Vietnam in climate change and food safety.
The same day, Mr. Binh also met French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary, during which he affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always treasure ties with France. He said he believes that the partnership will continue to rise, especially in trade, economy and investment.
Mr. Binh declared that Vietnam will continue offering optimal conditions for French-invested projects in Vietnam.
For his part, Lortholary lauded Vietnam’s socio-economic development. He pledged that France will continue fostering partnership with Vietnam in agriculture, infrastructure building, the environment, health care, aviation, and banking.
