The exhibition featured a number of precious photos and documents covering President Ho Chi Minh's historic visit to Bulgaria from August 13-17, 1957, his life and revolutionary career, as well as the cause of national construction and defence of the Vietnamese people in the 20th and early 21st centuries.
The exhibition also introduced historical legal evidence of Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
A seminar on President Ho Chi Minh, a Vietnamese hero for national liberation and a great man of culture, as well as marking the 67th anniversary of the Vietnam-Bulgaria relations, was also held at the event.
In her speech, Vice President Iliana Iotova said that her mother was a witness of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Bulgaria 60 years ago. To her and her generation, President Ho Chi Minh was always considered a respectful leader of the Vietnamese people for his humility, simplicity and great personality. During his stay in Bulgaria, the Vietnamese President spent most of his time meeting people, as well as visiting kindergartens, schools, and farms.
Speeches presented by the scholars of Vietnam and Bulgaria at the seminar focused on the ways with which to foster the time-honoured diplomatic relations between the two countries, in addition to strengthening the friendship between the two peoples through social organisations, as well as highlighting the achievements of the Doi Moi (Renewal) process in Vietnam in recent years.
