According to Russian Consul General Alexey V. Popov, there is a strong tradition in Vietnam - Russia relations, which is the foundation for the two countries to develop economic cooperation and trade exchanges.
In 2017, Vietnam - Russia bilateral trade turnover reached nearly US$5.3 billion, up 35% over 2016. However, the result is not commensurate with the expected potential of the two countries’ Governments and the businesses.
In order to invigorate trade between the two countries, Russian trade promotion agencies will connect businesses and strengthen support services for Vietnamese and Russian enterprises, he added. In this effort, the Russian Export Centre Group (REC) has launched the REC Commercial House Model in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Commercial House Model allows a centralised source for Russian exporters to approach and conduct meetings and negotiations with foreign partners, organise product exhibitions, and provide samples of their products at active stalls in the network.
