On his Twitter account, President Trump conveyed gratitude to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and “the wonderful people of Vietnam”.

Earlier at a press conference following the DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit, Trump thanked the government and people of Vietnam for supporting and hosting the second DPRK-USA summit.
He said he and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un talked about various issues and had a “productive time”, both leaving the summit with a sound and friendly disposition.
In a statement the same day, the White House’s Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said that President Trump and DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un “had a very good and constructive meeting in Hanoi."
