Vice President to attend Global Summit of Women

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh will lead a Vietnamese delegation to the Global Summit of Women (GSW) and conduct bilateral activities in Australia from April 22-28, said the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

The visit will be made at the invitation of GSW President Irene Natividad, she said. 

Themed “Women: Creating Economies of Shared Value”, the summit underscored the importance of globalisation, inclusive development, economic connectivity expansion in which women’s role and contributions are highlighted. 

The GSW is an important forum to promote gender equality, enhance economic empowerment for women, create opportunities for cooperation connectivity and expansion, and uphold women’s role in each economy and the world. 

The Vice President is due to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, meet participating guests as well as leaders of Australia and the states of Victoria and New South Wales. She will visit several economic and education establishments, and meet overseas Vietnamese and businesses in the country.
