On this occasion, the Government chief also received the chair bell of WEF ASEAN 2018 from his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen.

PM Phuc stressed that the WEF’s reselection of Viet Nam as the host of WEF in the region represents the strong development in the partnership between Viet Nam and the foundation, and among Viet Nam and the international business community.

Viet Nam, affirmed the PM, will work closely with the WEF, other Governments, and business community to successfully organize the WEF ASEAN 2018.

Earlier, PM Phuc attended and delivered a speech at a session on intelligent infrastructure investment.

Mr. Phuc highlighted the significance of infrastructure to development which is a prerequisite for economic connectivity and a centre in the building of the ASEAN Economic Community.

Developing modern and synchronous infrastructure is one of the three strategic breakthroughs for economic reform and transformation of the growth model in Viet Nam, said PM Phuc. In the 2016-2020, Viet Nam has high demand and hopes to mobilize around US$ 480 billion for infrastructure development, mostly from the private sector.

He welcomed international businesses to engage in high-quality infrastructure projects with modern and environmentally-friendly technologies, including highways, sea ports, airports, renewable energy, climate change response, urban infrastructure, and smart cities.

Finally, the PM affirmed that the Government will do its utmost to vigorously renovate the business environment; perfect policies and the legal system on land, investment, finance, and tax with a view to mostly facilitating investors in infrastructure in the model of PPP./.
