The visit is made at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Party leader was accompanied by Tong Thi Phong, Politburo member, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Pham Binh Minh, Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister; Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Chief of the PCC Office; Hoang Binh Quan, Member of the PCC, Head of the PCC Commission for External Relations; Tran Tuan Anh, Member of the PCC, Minister of Industry and Commerce; Tran Hong Ha, Member of the PCC, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Chu Ngoc Anh, Member of the PCC, Minister of Science and Technology; Nguyen Chi Vinh, Member of the PCC, Senior Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister of Defence; Le Quy Vuong, Member of the PCC, Senior Lieutenant General, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security; Ho Mau Ngoat, Assistant to Party General Secretary; and Nguyen Thiep, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to France.
