The press release stated: "Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for 3000 years. It's been the capital of the state of Israel since it was established in 1948. Israel appreciates President Trump's decision as an important step towards peace, for there is no peace that doesn't include Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel.
We are fully committed to advancing peace with all of our neighbors, including the Palestinians. This has been our goal from Israel's first day, and we will continue to work hard to make that dream of peace come true. Moreover, Prime Minister Netanyahu made it clear, once again, that Israel will always ensure freedom of worship for all religions - Jews, Christians and Muslims alike."
